  Wow Vanessa I just love your blog. You really keep me inspired to go deeper with my art. I have a question about your charcoal drawings with the grids. Do you use the colored pastels over the charcoal under drawings with the grid on them? Just curious. I am loving what I see

  Hi Rosalind! Yes that’s exactly what I do. I do my charcoal drawings with a grid. Once complete I apply a pastel under-painting to the picture (monochromatic) and then begin building various layers of pastel until I get the desired results.
